One of the world's foremost internet-content providers for enhanced and interactive television users, YooMedia demand a very rapid turnaround of products, often with just a few days from requirements to release, with no compromise in quality.
In response to technological advances since their launch, we
re-engineered their web chat rooms to reduce server load, data latency and bandwidth requirements, as well as creating new internet games for their users.
Their existing solutions were developed in Visual Basic as Active Server Page ASP scripts to be run under Microsoft Windows NT 4. With the release of Windows 2000 Server came COM+ and the ability to cache
in-process COM objects, allowing dramatic performance gains. Xiasma analysed and documented their existing ASP code and redeveloped appropriate portions in Borland Delphi as MTS objects, slashing server load for the new applications by more than 99% under heavy usage.
