RBS has acquired interest in numerous companies in recent years and are unifying operations to slash operational costs. Xiasma was asked to identify commonality in the application and fulfilment processes of analogous products offered by RBS brands and to produce a “one size fits all” solution to accommodate target and future brands and products. The first phase was to host mortgage products sold by the One Account (formerly Virgin One), Direct Line and First Active on the same set of systems with different branding applied. This involved complying with individual brand style guidelines as well as bringing the existing application processes up to a Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliant state and improving the process to reduce applicant drop-out. The second phase was to integrate mortgage protection and life assurance product sales into the system and to extend branding.
