Xiasma was responsible for migrating the legacy Turbo Pascal code from DOS to Windows, for the Assurelink Common Quotation Framework. This work was primarily designing an MTS back-end server solution exposing a COM interface for deployment on NT servers as a multi-tier system, as well as a stand-alone desktop environment, developed in Delphi 5. Communication between the (supplied) client and the back-end is through XML, using Microsoft MSXML 2.0’s IXMLDOMDocument interface.
